Hi, my name is Sharlott Shaw and I want to thank you for visiting my blog.
I am a single mother of one little daughter, Alex, and I hope that this blog will be a blessing to whoever reads it. Here is a bit of my history.
When I was 18, I went to the United States and I started and completed my GED (General Equivalency Degree). The GED is the home-school equivalent of the high-school diploma, and it is very special to be able to say, "I have the paper!!" :) It was grueling, but I loved it, and I was also able to amuse my classmates as I was the only Australian in the class. They had never had an Australian in that class before, so I was a bit of a novelty!
I came back from the States and hopped around a lot doing different things. I started study a couple of times and decided that it wasn't the right time to do that so I worked as a private au pair instead. I also stayed with friends for six months which at the time was the longest I had stayed in one place in 4 years.
Last year, I became pregnant with my daughter. It was an interesting pregnancy, and then I gave birth to my daughter in April of this year. She is nearly 6 months old, now, and I can't believe how fast the time has passed. She has made so many milestones, smiling, laughing, being tickled, pushing herself around with her feet and watching me with adoring eyes. She is so beautiful, and she still trusts me with complete trust. She laughs when I pick her up. :) I had no idea how fulfilling it was to be a mother. My mother trained me for this, but I had no idea how amazing it is until it happened to me.
I do pray and hope I can be a blessing to the young ladies and girls that may frequent this site.
Your Sister in the Lord,
Sharlott L. Shaw.
