2 onions
2 kgs of lean beef mince
4 cans of lentils
4 cans of mixed beans
3 cans of diced tomatoes
2 750ml jars of pasata
Decent sprinkle of Italian herbs mix
Enough all purpose seasoning to taste
Lots of pepper
Dice and fry onions well before adding mince. Once mince is very well browned add the lentils, mixed beans and diced tomatoes and leave for 5 minutes. Next add Italian herbs, seasoning and pepper and allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Usually ten minutes gives it a good amount of time to absorb the flavour before adding the pasata. Allow to simmer for at least 15 minutes, although the longer you leave it the better it tastes.
NOTE: One delicious way of using left over bolognaise is to mix it with pasta of some sort and put it in a casserole dish with cornflakes and cheese on top. Extremely delicious.
